Commusication Academy was founded in 2012 with a mission to merge the freedom and flair of contemporary music education with the foundations and fundamentals of the classical route. Our founder Daryl Saw, well, saw a gap in the music education scene where many ‘modern’ musicians were only trained to play songs by copying, by ear or by feeling without having any underlying music knowledge, and on the other hand just as many classical piano graduates were only able to play perfectly according to music scores yet unable to do anything apart from written sheet music. Combining his 20+ years of experience as a musician with his professional expertise as a trainer and educator, Daryl developed methods and programmes to bridge that gap and nurture musicians not just play an instrument skilfully, but also to use music to communicate feelings, emotions and ideas beyond what words can express. He calls this… commusication.
Adult Music Courses
Piano for Praise & Worship
Crafted specifically for Christian musicians, this course equips you to use the piano as an instrument to minister in God’s presence. As far back as 2 Chronicles 25:7, the Bible speaks of people who were “trained and skilled in making music for the Lord”. Music has always been closely related with worship (1 Chronicles 9:33), prophecy (2 Kings 3:15), deliverance (1 Samuel 16:23) and many other aspects of Christian life… not to mention that when we get to heaven, we will also encounter myriads of angels singing before the throne! It is therefore a great honour, and an equally great responsibility, for church musicians and worship leaders to be faithful stewards of this gift of music, leading people into God’s heart and ultimately to a place of surrender to his perfect plan.
Suitable for absolute beginners, or people with some musical foundations wanting to adapt their skills for praise & worship leading.
Course Fees: $200/month (4 lessons)

Piano for Leisure
Learn to play the piano without the stress of exams! This course equips learners with firm foundations in practical piano-playing skills and essential music theory knowledge. We will explore key concepts like notes, keys, scales, melody, chords, rhythmic patterns and dynamics, and how it all applies to playing your favourite songs. Yes, you get to choose two songs to work on during the course!
Course Fees: $200/month (4 lessons)
Course Duration: 3-6 months recommended

Daryl Saw
Daryl started playing the piano at 5 years old, worked his way up the ladder of classical grades, but grew to detest music when he joined his secondary school band as a saxophonist. It was only later when he joined is church band as a keyboardist at 17 that his love for music was not only revived, but also taken to a new level under the guidance of skilled and anointed musician mentors. He discovered what music truly means to him, and through Commusication Academy, has had the privelege of sharing this joy with over 100 students to date. Apart from teaching music, Daryl is also a wines & spirits trainer with The Beverage Clique Academy.
